yeah, air gov.
not yet getting it ready... its time
also found where my slow air leak was coming from. air bag (chassis) -
lol
those are fun to change
put a 4x4 and 2x4 (stacked) between the axle and frame...gives you alot more room to get them out
you figure out where yer gonna pull for? -
In a pinch, can the regulator be bypassed?
-
NOT that i am aware of, but as someone mentioned you may be able to join glad hands and fill up the tanks.
govennor was not that expensive. -
NO if there you bypass it the compressor will not shut off therefore building excessive pressure and possibly ruining the compressor. Not cheap.
-
If the governor does go bad and keeps building air or if ya bypass it some how you can still run the truck. But first off you need to be able to bleed off the excess pressure. Excess pressure won't hurt the compresor, it will just make the safety valve on top of the compresor bleed off. This is not what you want to do though. Basically the compresor will be running loaded all the time which will build excess heat in it. Heat is a big no-no for compresors for many reasons. If ya need to bleed off excess pressure just un hook the air line going to your fifth wheel slide and flip the switch when you see pressure getting up around 120-125. Thhis will work in a pinch to get you home or to a shop. The DOT won't like it though. Governors are cheap and I carry a extra one in the truck at all times. If I remember right the last one was around $40.

Some of the older dump trucks running around here must have the compressor "wired" for continues run mode. Every 5 seconds you can hear the air blow off from the cut in switch.
-
sounds like they have a hole in the unloader line
-
Governors are pretty cheap and don't take up much room, everyone should have a spare.
MM71 Thanks this.
