Hello, This is a great forum, been reading for 30min and learned alot for a new guy.
Anyway, the Jake in my 92pete works great, but won't shut off by itself at Idle. I think it's supost to shut off a 950rpm if I'm not mistaken. You can sit at idle and flip the switch and it will kill it.
Anyone have any Ideas. I'm pretty mechanicly inclined so lay it on me.
Thanks Clint

As far as I know and my personal experience with them all mechanical CAT's jake brakes work that way.

dont it carry accel and clutch switches

Yeah it has a micro switch on the injector pump that shuts the jake off when you give it gas, but I thought that it is suppost to shut itself off at Idle. Maybe not.

Oh, then I guess there is nothing wrong with it. The driver(me) just has to be on the ball and remember to shut the dang switch off when coming to a stop. haha
If it wasn't for this forum, I'd be out there till midnight trying to figure out what the heck.
thanks for the help -
