Mile High, did you ask why no codes until you replaced IVA sensor?

Guys i also am having this same problem with my 07 NXS c15. Yesterday my truck was stuck at 32psi and occasionally it would jump up to 44psi but that didn't last long. We bought this truck last december and since that its never pulled more than 38psi. Its seems like it has always pulled just fine but now at 32psi its a total dog. Truck is a pete 379 with 373k on it. It was at CAT all day and they couldn't find anything wrong. They said the engine didn't seem like it wanted to warm up all the way so they put thermostats in it. No change. Since we've owned it, it runs about 187-195. They say thats too cold. They found no fault codes, checked CAC,turbos, fuel pressure, etc.... with no results. Its going on the dyno tomorrow.

Mile high what was the biggest problem you ended up having with yours? I guess i didn't catch the #1 problem, was it the IVA solenoid or oil on the injector harness? Any other info or ideas? It sucks when the experts can't trouble shoot it.

Oops, help... I went to replace my fuel transfer pumps spring and the plunger fell to the ground. Can't tell which way it goes back in. Long side in first or last? I reinstalled it with the long side out... Runs well but which is correct.

I have a 06 Pete379 it has the cat c-15 acert Mxs. Been really good for me.in 1.1 million miles ive never really had any problems. Ive put new injectors and a new Ecm at 975,000 and about 3 yrs ago at 600,000 I started having boost issues. Only40 psi on the dash on a good day and its really slow getting there and coming back down. Once it gets there it will still pull with the best of them. Ive replaced boost sensor, atmosphere pressure sensor didn't change anything and ive also replaced the Ecm wiringharness no change. Ive exhausted all I think of ANY IDEAS ON WHATS WRONG???? Ive also replaced fuel lines from tank to filters because fuel restrictions was7 or8 and now they are still 5 grossed at 80,000 please help??!!

Has any of you had the valves adjusted lately? I did one that would only get 29 psi after valves adjusted went to 45psi. What happens is the valves drive them selves up into the head and you loose your clearance and after a long time the valve will be held open slightly. You can't build boost when the valves won't let you.

  10. OK guys. Here is some thing that is not noticed in older million mile advert blocks.

    Caterpillar-C15-Engine-Misc-Parts-T8h1XVhcC7xt_f.jpg

Look at this pic. See the hex head plugs.bottom of pic. These are located just above your oil filter. Behind them are spings and a plastic plunger.

When your oil filter gets plugged ( how ever it gets plugged,). These plungers let oil bypass the filter.

Now the springs get weak and let oil bypass the filter all the time and you loose oil pressure.

How do I know, I did an inframe. ( 1 million 30k) and didn't replace the hex and springs and plungers.

My motor. Was idle at 23 psi and. Warm and following at 1500 rpms was 51 psi.

83 bucks lager and I have idle 43 psi and warm 65-70 psi.

Also check your oil pump , o- rings and pickup tube o-rings.

ready2truck, mattymustang351 and blade Thank this.
