Yes you use the porta power in the door from.......between the lower front corner and the upper rear corner. Both sides will have to be done and it will take a considerable amount of effort to do this. I've never seen this being done, but have talked to heavy truck body shops that do it. Be careful that you don't bend the door frame while doing this. You just want to rack the cab back into position. Also install the 70" air bags inder the cab sleeper joint. There's a crossmember at the rear of the cab that has an cast aluminum mount that fits the bolt holes already drilled into the crossmember. This is the lower bag mount, the upper mount is a steel plate that mounts between the cab and sleeper.

This might be a dumb question but do you have the hinge inside out?

I just wanted to update ya'll on the door frame problem. i took my truck to peterbilt house and they used a special cut 2by4 and a portapower in the door frame took about 2 hrs and about 200 bucks but the door fits better than ever. I'm lookin into putting the intermediate air bags under the cab at about 1600.00. So the moral of the story is, its a pretty simple fix and not too expensive if your as sick of wind noise and door chatter like i was.

Now that I got that out of the way! What year is this truck, have you noticed any sag in between the cab and sleeper? If so are there any dents or give in either? -
never had to do anything like that to my lowly freightshaker
-
oh come on, this old 96 model only has 1,695,000 miles on it. about 600,000 on dirt roads. that freight shaker wouldn't even have the doors still on it.
