where can I find the information to determine what torque rating my super 10 trans has? I want to increase HP/torque but don't want to over power my trans. Also would like to know of places that will bump my power up without charging an arm and a leg. Thanks

The first two numeric digits of the transmission model number will tell you the torque rating for your trans. Prices to change power rating are as loose as ashes in the wind. E.G.: Cummins in Mobile = 300 Cummins in Carlise, PA = 125 Stoops Freightliner in Fremont, IN = 175..... IIRC.

wats on the plate on the tranny? eg. rtlo18918b, the 18 in the 189 says it can handle 1800ftlbs torque, if it was 169 it would suggest 1600ftlbs

    7mouths2feed Thanks this.

The trans is a RTL16 6 10B . Future plans is to swap out for a 13spd. Question is with a middle number of 6 on the S-10 will the output(yoke) have to be swapped since the middle numbers for a 13 are either 7 or 9. My understanding is that this number determines type of splines. Is the 6 of the S-10 compatible with the 7 or 9 of the 13?
