I just got a Volvo VN670 today, and I absolutely cannot figure out how to set the idle speed to bump up. I know you're supposed to use the cruise control, as in, press set and it goes up to about 500 RPM or so, but I can't figure out how to set it to high idle. I've tried holding the fuel down to about that much and pressing set, but nope... No results. I can do it in every other truck, lol. So for those of you with Volvo experience, how in the world do you set it? Thanks!

"it goes up to about 8,000 RPM or so,"
Is your engine still intact?? -
Haha, why yes. Yessir it is. Well, I'm sure you guys know what I mean anyway. Have any idea?

I have seen in older trucks where the switches get put in upside down, so "up" is actually "down". But I doubt that is the problem. -
Turn the cruise control switch to "on" push the accelerate button on the cruise control. It should begin to accelerate. If not, its broke! It has nothing to do with the foot pedal. Every time you hit the foot pedal your canceling it. Make sure the parking brake is set too.

May be disabled by the company.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's been disabled. It's got that Wabasto System in it and it doesn't idle for longer than 5 minutes. Oh well, it's all good. It's still a lovely truck. Thanks for the replies!

Well.. it probably is disabled... but I had an 2004 670 that shut off after 5 minutes... so I just would only pull the trailer brakes on it and leave the tracker brakes active then chock the wheels. If you dont pull the tractor brakes, that shut down timer dont start and you should still be able to set the cruse.. I don't know, but it worked in mine. Don't get youself in trouble with this though and only do it on level ground with chocked wheels.
Big Duker Thanks this. -
500 rpm up is ok for 670. It is programed by Volvo and anything more than that is just wasting of gas. Way you wont more?
