This is exactly what I was told when I stopped at an Internatinal dealer in Grand Island Nebraska this summer.... There was a IH factory in the town...

They took a look at my truck and said you have a C-13 block in there... made me think maybe they(Maxx Forces) don't all do??? not sure

As I understood. The MF 13 was a MANN engine with. Different emission and injection stuff for the US. The MF 15 had something to do with the cat block. If anyone knew the real deal, it would be intrusting to know.

Again, that is what I understood too... however, it seems some of them the MF 13's have the cat c-13 block as well... at least the one i drive does... was sort of suprised to find this out as well...

Perhaps, demand required more blocks sooner than MANN could offer them... IH had cat c-13 blocks... viola, MF's are built around the c-13... my best guess.???

I wouldn't know one block from another but I did have a MF . I won't say it was a real POS but I'm glad I'm rid of it. Got it with 11,000 and it's gone with 28,000. What a dog! No pulling power at all even with 15k in the box and talk about turbo lag:biggrin_2554: I'd go to drop a gear and by the time the engine started to produce some power I had to drop another gear!
It also had an annoying little hic-up almost like skip or miss in a couple cylinders, shop couldn't find anything wrong.
On the good side it is a quit running engine. Glad my old truck got fixed just about the time I hit a deer with this thing:biggrin_2559:

I had the same problem with mine as I got it with about 3,000 miles on it. No pulling power... I really sucked. I called a friend about it and he asked how many miles were on it... I told him and he said, hell the thing isn't even broke in yet... just give it a while.

I did, and what a difference after about 60,000. I've got plenty of power now and the turbo is much more responsive. It's hard to belive it's the same truck.

    I have a Max in a ProStar plus...got it with 13,000 on it.Now I have over 58,000...not 1 problem.

On this one...its a low rpm,big gears in the rear shifting .Took me about 3 days to really get the down shifting right, but now I never drop a gear till it hits around 48mph.

so the deal with my pro star 2012 maxxforce 13 litter is this......
got it with 4500 km on it. has 24,000 on it now has been in the shop 8 times, been complaining about same issue every time. truck would stutter and fart and cough after a short time at idle.....
every time my dealer assure me there was no issues no codes being kicked. Went out of town got 4 hours into a 3 day haul and temp gauge spiked and said shut down blah blah blah.... engine was fine temp was fine limped it into a different dealer, found an exhaust leak under cab out of egr tube, it melted 3 different sensors including the temp and egr, also melted the main wire harness that feeds all the way around engine to cab. Six days later all fixed said come get it so I picked it up with a haul heading out of town again..felt pretty good better than it had in any of the km I put on before hesitation after idle seemed much better. I thought to myself this could be it perhaps the bugs are getting worked out. well 1200 km later truck fell flat on its face lost all power started smelling raw fuel so I let off and it died. fuel was pouring out of the pump. so within 24000 km the truck sees the wrecker again. the shop it’s at goes on and replaces fuel lines. fuel still pours out so they replace the fuel pump and lines again ( BECAUSE THEY ARE A ONE TIME USE LINE ) so as I sit and wait for 3 days on parts in the middle of nowhere its finally time to prime the system start it and get me on my way......well it won’t start. at this point I fly home in complete disgust. Four days and they still can’t get it running. I know there are several mechanics on this board and if anyone can offer help I would love to hear it. I feel we got a lemon. I actually like the truck feel it pulls just fine and as all diesel engines are they take many miles to break in to get full power out of them. The truck is very quiet and I love that, comfortable turns on a dime, but is plagued with issues. I do not get the impression that international is doing enough. Anyone have any clue how to get in touch with someone higher up than a general manager at the dealer. Truck is losing thousands a day sitting and with me not working.

EGR bellow tube has been addressed with the new style, Ive seen 3 trucks so far with that issue, but yes when they do let go they can take out alot of the wiring back there. The hesitation could be in the EGR valve hanging up, there has been an AFC for the egr valve as well as some other things for the heater pipe and the HVAC evaporator drain and ECM calibration. Hmm the pump failure is interesting. I have only seen one fail but it wasnt because of a no start.

If you can give me the last 8 of the VIN.
