I am assuming you mean super 10 transmission, if not forgive me. a super 10 or 13 will operate the same way with any modern engine . no worries, you will love the cat
bellydumper Thanks this. -
So the rpms usually run around the same? I been shifting a 435 cat for a good while now. You gotta wind that sucker up high to make it up hills with 80k lbs of 2 inch base, gravel etc. No power!

Its not that Im driving wrong of course, got plenty of experience with it lol. I heard lots of complaints bout the 435 cat with a super 10!

not sure what a mack super 10 is , cause here in oz we dont really use them. but a mack 18 speed and a road ranger 18 speed are different to shift, the mack box has heavier cogs and therefore shifting is quite diff to a RR and there are a lot of guys over hear that just cant get used to them and end up hating them, but really they are a great box ( i love both the mack and RR) when you change then mack you just have to remember that because the cogs are heavier that they maintain there spinning speed longer than what a RR does, so you either have to shift quicker or keep the RPM's up a little higher to get everything to match up during your change. hope this mask sense.

The 18 speed Mack I sometime drive has the same shift pattern as my 18 speed RR, its a lot more touchy and finickey though.

MACK has a slightly different TORQUE curve than a CAT , need to adjust your shgifting ( RPM range ) to benefit from it.

ill just listen to the engine I guess??? Does it shift at lower rpms or whats the deal? Thanks peeps!!!

You'll be fine, It's just a lot more picky going in to the gears, My experience. Once you drive it the first time you'll know what I'm talking about.
