hi!!!fellas!!!i try to connecting to my truck,via 9 pins nexq usb link ,insite program, but appears a error in the screen say(insite has detect the folling ecm has an invalid footprint (fingerprint) cm870(7) in the top say error5081, and error 5202(in other screen but right here appers my info about my engine only) , how can i fix that?i try different ways usbj1939,j1485 j1708, line1,2,,5 new connections different ports usb, but nothinghttp://thedieselgarage.com/forums/images/smilies/######.gif, i try direct from engine 3pin connector to my lap,t and nothing http://thedieselgarage.com/forums/images/smilies/######.gifhow can i communicate with ecm? or what i need to do? thanx in advance !!!!!!!!

Sounds like the ECM doesn't have a genuine Cummins program in it and some kind of after market software. Insite will only read a genuine Cummins program.

firs of all I need ECM image to know what's going on.
yep, changing calibration in recovery mode will erase all parameters you have to enter manually from image file. it is more then hour work (if you are lucky and do no mistakes).
But first of all I wanna know why not genue software is used? what software is used for what purposes?pichu Thanks this. -
There are companies out there can basically take a Cummins ECM and totally erase all the Cummins software and then they install their own custom software. They take out the Cummins operating system and install a custom one. This is popular with people who take an EGR engine and mechanically eliminate all the emission stuff and then rewrite the software in the ECM so the engine runs just like a first generation release ISX. Insite is looking for the Cummins software, but can't find it.

but sometimes in the morning in the dash of the truck appears calibrated eepron (not every days), the first thing ,i did a injectors cut /and a cylinder cut then the computer ask me to refresh injectors and i push !!yes!! from then my lapt froze i waited 5 minutes and it stayed frozen ,then i turned it off then thats when i couldn't enter again,another thing is when i go to the diagnostic dash i see in the ecu engine there no problem(only my egr you know) when i go to the ecu vehicle it appears mid 144 another thing is now my engine is little different i field more strong!!!the truck was from fedex volvo vnl,the rare is those truck is running strong is only 400st lol!!!
