Clutch Adjustment how to video
I've often been amazed at how many people improperly adjust clutches. I found this video made by Eaton/Spicer to train mechanics on the proper way to do this. It is a long video and some of the things are about installing a clutch properly. The clutch adjustment part of the video is at the end, please wait to see it and understand how to do this if you decide to do this job yourself. I've also found that a large number of the mechanics don't adjust clutches properly. This video will help you to achieve the proper adjustments after someone else has screwed them up by improperly adjusting the clutch

I amazed at how many owners attempt repairs without a service manual and think they can get correct info on the internet.
Like that frame stretching thread for example, my service manual has a section detail proper procedures and all y'all who replied in that thread left out some important info.
Just sayin'... safety of the motoring public is at stake if you do things wrong.
Your info and theory Kurt, always seems logical and precise, if I do say so. Thanks for all you do.

The adjuster doesn't normally freeze up, but the adjuster ring in the clutch does. If the ring is frozen and you put too much force on the adjuster, it will break the adjuster. When the adjuster won't easily turn the ring, the trick is to remove the adjuster and tickle the ring with an air hammer until it frees and then reinstall the adjuster and make your final adjustment.

mr haney,
we are looking for a custom flash file for cat c7 c9 c13 and c 15 to turn off the ARD regen system so we can ditch the DPF filter. The trucks are used off road and because they idle lots these fricking things break down every couple of days. If you can help me out email me at spirittrapper@hotmail.com. I'll make it worth your while, dont worry.

The easiest clutch to adjust in the world.... the Lipe clutch. And a lot stronger clutch than an Eaton. No having to crank the engine to get the clutch into position. No need for another person to hold the clutch in, use a 2x4 or whatever, or special tools. Can be done by all but the most retarded driver also. Puts Eaton to shame.
