| 3406B is very good reliable old motor! Only thing to watch is the narrow rod bearings that need changing every 500k miles compared to a 3406C. Turn the pump up and have some fuuuuuuuuuun! Watch the pyro though

| Yeah, i had a friend who burned a hole in his piston from to much fuel, thats why i say a PYROMETER IS A MUST! All it takes is turning 2 screws on the pump, when i had my 92 Pete i had em suckers bottomed out, but i also had a huge turbo pushing enough air for the fuel, running 42-45psi boost. That mechanical monster would run!

| as much as I would like to have more power, I have to pay for it and well to honest I'm cheap LOL My truck runs out pretty good except for the hills, then I wish the gearing was a little closer together. I would love to swap in a 13 But like I said I'm cheap, and this works. One of these days I'll get the bug and turn it up, just not sure when. |

| Walley, what hp rating is the motor set to? I have a 13 in my truck but it;s the older style with the straight cut gears. no problem but the straight cuts make overdrive howl like crazy lol. I'd like to go to the newer 18B 550 I have a guy over at the other side who wants to trade my cumins for his cat. Then I find out it's an A model I don't think I wan't to go backwards in technology |

| Id go for it, the A model is pretty much like a B. They are pretty cheap to rebuild, stick a C model pump and turbo on it turn it up and have a fun 650hp engine.

| Not sure what its set at, the former owner swears it is at 425, but his mechanic told me he had it turned down when they in-framed it to try to avoid future problems, so I'm not really sure. The one thing I know is everything is working and I'm hesitant to change things and screw something up. Before I change anything with the motor I want to ad cruise without it it makes for some long days rollin down the road. |

| Well on your B all i would do is turn the fuel screws out a bit, im talking 1/4 turn and see, watch the pyro. Thats free, i had mine bottomed out with a big turbo on it, i think the turbo cost $1600 or so, but i bet that engine was making 700hp, never dynoed it.
