Here's the problem....Now when you troubleshoot a problem.....It can take hours to go through the faults.....Then there's the game of "Active Faults" and "Inactive Faults"...
For a simple EGR valve replacement....My rig was down for two days.....
Peterbilt had to prove to Cummins that the EGR valve was bad......Two days of the Dealer fighting Cummins.....
And when the other things failed like the EGR cooler and the VGT.....10 days in the shop.....
I'm not solely blaming Pete or Cummins....90% of this bull #### is Mary Nichols' fault....
She needs to get dragged out....Tarred and feathered....And run out on a rail from SAC.....
I honestly hate that woman more than I hate racists......

If you have a 2007 or newer truck and the EGR cooler is going out and you are burning coolant you will not see white smoke at the exhaust pipe. The DPF will catch this. It is not good for the DPF either. You would have to take the clamp loose at the turbo outlet to see if the exhaust coming out of the engine is white.
