Perterbilt 579....All i gotta say is WOW
The 579 that my company ordered showed up at the dealer a couple days ago. i got a chance to go take a look at it and see the inside and WOW! I wish i had my phone on me i would have taken pictures for you guys maybe next eek when i get home...It's not much to look at one the outside and does have some design que's from the t680 the mirrors side skirts and head lights. The inside is where it's at in the bunk everything is well laid out with in arms reach it was the single bunk so there was plenty of cubbies all over the place the fridge has the same door as the closets so it blends in like a volvo fridge the lights are placed around the bunk were you wan them so there is no dark spots or unlit area's. The space between the seats is great you can walk right through the roof in the cab is just at the right height for standing a little bent to get from the front to the back they still have the piece were the cab and bunk are joined together the spot most guys hit there head but doesn't stick out as bad anymore so guys shouldn't be hitting there head. In the front when you sitting in the drivers seat the dash isn't too low and its no too high its just right the gauges and switches are all within easy reach and well laid out for quick glances driving down the road and again there is plenty of little cubbies above your head. i'm 5'11 and there was plenty of leg room....the feature that impressed me the most was the seats oh my god those seats were super comfortable the usual lumbar support and air ride, and you can pull out the seat cushion and the back reclines but the best part there is a button you push and it reclines the whole seat the cushion and the back at the same time to about 45 degree angle like a lazy boy i'v got to say it has got to be one of the most comfortable driving positions i'v felt sitting in a truck...it would only be a good sitting position on the open highway and it was so comfortable truck accidents may go up from guys all reclined dreaming of home falling asleep lol
Man i gotta say Peterbilt congrats on taking the time to design a trucker friendly truck and what took you guys so long

Are you sure you didn't mean the 379/389 now that's a real peterbilt styling and profiling

No guys i did say it's aint much to look at meaning it is kinda ugly but the interior blew me away...you can't see what it looks like sitting in the drivers seat lol.
We did pop the hood and it has the paccar motor in it, working on the motor is no worse then a 386 or any of the other aero trucks on the market right now well aside from that maxforce mess international made

Maybe true but most drivers who love trucks would drive a 379/389 or w900 over all that aero crap they have today and at 60 mph the fuel mileage would hardly be noticeable

I know what your saying poppa the day me and my buddy went to see the 579 that he is getting we drove over in a w900 he is borrowing while another guy is on vacation and the 579 gets ready, i was in all my glory couldn't be happier to be in a w9 again for a few mins i love hoods i want my own someday, but at the same time i understand were companies are going and with the government pushing fuel economy on trucks now its only a matter of time before there gone...i'v been hearing rumors about kw getting ride of the w9 that could be why they decided to make these t660's
