N14 Celect vs N14 Celect Plus

I currently have a Cummins N14 Celect 460HP (cpl1844) in my truck. I am wanting to swing motors due to some top deck block wear. I have found a good deal on a n14 celect plus with 525hp. My question is can you swing a celect with a celect plus? Good idea or bad? Its going in a 96 fld120.

look, Celect plus was made to follow new electronic standards, becouse early Celect had no J1939, cant be controlled by J1939, cant be used with new automatic transmissions, cant be used with Euro-III and EPA2002 calibrations. Celect + is easier to use with european 24V trucks....

swap celect with celct plus.... ouh, you can do it, but pay attention on different connections and different wiring. And do not forget use the right calibration file according yoiur CPL. All sensors and actuators are the same on all N14 and M11 engines

The engine is a direct swap only thing diffrent ill be ecm and harness and possible sensors but all the hard parts are the same the celect plus is a better system it gives you more parameters that cam ne changed onbtje ecm and can run more systems

You can swap the wiring harness and ECM (Celect) off you old engine to run the new engine but I am not sure there is a calibration available for celect to run high HP (525). Youwill have to check pinouts on where your chassis plug goes into the ECMs. I believe they are different between celect and celect plus, but you could always repin a new connector so your truck harness will plug into the celect plus ECM.

really old Celect is rare bird here, generally on DAF XF95 AT and International 9xxxx made in 90-s.

And as I remember DAF 95 with N14 was 500 hp, and seems to me it is top power rating.

ohh yeah you can do it, we swapped one from a 96 Kw into a 94FLD. all that was needed was some accessories from one engine to another, and the bell housing from the FLD had to be swapped over the kw's.

Hello, I have a 94 international cabover. I have a 460 N14 celect. I pull a 53' cattle pot and am getting horrible fuel economy. I have pressure tested air to air and other little things. I'm looking to get a lot better fuel mileage out of this engine. If anyone could let me know anything to do to get it out of a n14 celect. Thanks.

Not going to happen, sorry. The N14 is a work horse and not designed for fuel economy.
Actually the N14 is a Big Cam on steroids. 5.5 to 6 is all your going to get.

To the OP, I suggest using the block and using your original electronics. (ecm)
