I done Italy and Spain with mine for years, just as hot in those countries and I never turned that waeco up past setting 4! I got it gassed up 2 years ago ( about $50 ) and thats the only maintenance it needs! Before this one I had a viesa water evaporator unit, worked very well up to about 35c but then the water would get hot and the air would get hot, perfectly good up to that point!
I would presume the waeco is the same unit as your domestic model only it charges from the trucks power instead of a 110v supply! It'll run for 30 hours without starting the truck but it won't run the battery down as it will shut off if the power gets too low! They are very popular in Australia and are fitted to American brand trucks there so someone has to be selling them to suit your truck.

I know apu's are very good but for me they are too expensive to buy and run, everything is so expensive now, I've got my cooler, cab and engine block heater ( standard in euroland ) refridgerator, microwave, tv,12v, 24v, 110v and 240v supplies without an APU

To "The Trucker's Wife",
We are familiar with this event and take offense to the propaganda you are spreading. It amazes us at Parks Industries how you have failed to tell the whole story.
Since you won’t tell the entire story, in the interest of our company and our product's credibility, we will.
First off, our competition will incorporate the credit card fee into the price of your unit. They won’t give it to you, we are upfront and honest in how much we are charged for the credit card and pass the same fee straight to the customer. Second, we acknowledge that an issue with your APU resulted in the unit not cooling properly. However, lack of patience, not lack of knowledge resulted in our inability to resolve the issue. Your husband and yourself were belligerent at all of the facilities that you visited. In addition, he made it clear that he never wanted to purchase our product, both of you shared that you always wanted a competitor's unit. History shows us that we can never please someone in that situation.
The HP2000 will produce 15,000 BTU's cooling capacity and 18,000 BTU heating capacity in working order. Clearly an issue with your APU will diminish it's effects. With some patience, our qualified technicians would have completed the repair of this APU. Shortly after we removed the unit from your truck, the minor repair was made, and it was resold as a used unit to a happy customer. It was apparent that there was no interest in resolving the issue as much as there was to simply get your money back.
We have over 5,000 units on the road today. Parks Industries was under no legal obligation to reimburse the buyer as we did, and this is the first and only time Parks Industries has EVER taken a unit back off a truck after a sale. In most applications the unit can cool the cab of a truck to 60 degrees Fahrenheit with ambient temperatures of 100 degrees. Not only is our unit more affordable than our competition, it is lighter, more reliable and consumes less fuel. More research online through other forums will back us up in that this is a very reliable and affordable APU. We want to inform anyone who is looking for an APU that this customer is not by any means a typical example of an HP2000 owner. Feel free to call us any time to discuss any concerns you may have with a current APU or a future APU. We will be glad to talk with you and address any concerns.
Sincerely, Parks Industries LLC
Good luck Thermoking with this new customer!
