Thread: need advice on charge air cooler

Bought a oversized dura lite cac for my t600 run from top of radiator to just shy of the bottom also thicker core. Can't wait till its here and get it on the truck. Cost 2400 bucks though, they made it how I wanted it.

I bought one from General Radiator a while back. I have a little more then 400k on mine and it has bee doing great. I would highly recommend them. I found them in the truck paper. Got a 12 year warranty also!!

That's a nice lookin piece but I have a question. Maybe it doesn't make a difference, I don't know but wouldn't it make more sense to leave the charge air cooler in it's natural silver/aluminum finish to help disapate heat rather than paint it black since black absorbes heat?????

Corrosion preventative? Not going to matter what color it is rolling down the road at 40+ mph it'll get the job done.
