Turbocharger sideplay
Does anyone know how much sideplay is acceptable for turbo shaft? I can move mine about a 1/16" on my 12.7 60 series .

As long as it spins free and there's no rotor to housing interference your fine.

sideplay is norm on a turbo. Alot of up and down play is not good. does the turbine hit the housing when you turn it????

a turbo can have as much as 0.030" of side to side, up and down play and be considered normal depending on the make and specs of the turbo. End to end play is minimal, otherwise the wheels will hit the housings. If nothing is hitting and you don't have any signs of an oil leak at the bearing housing seals, leave it alone, unless you want to spend money for no reason
