Cat Power + Drag Racing = This

This is what happens to a 6000lb spring load Lipe when your do some drag racing with it. Had it in for less then 2 years and less then 10,000 Miles. Probably went drag racing with it about 5 different days made quite a few passes each time. I'm not complaining its pretty well expected but just wanted to show you guys and I'm always starting off in high range when racing.

    Heres the friction material

    The cracked intermediate plate

    The surface of the flywheel

Last time I went a made a couple passes and then I had a hard time getting it in gear and with the clutch to the floor it still wanted to move. Took it out today and found the intermediate plate cracked and stuck to the spacer that come with the Lipe I had to hammer it out.

Well I guess I know what surprise I might have after a few pulls with my 6000 lbs Lipe. LOL I got to say so far it is by far the best clutch I have ever owned...once you get past the heavy clutch pedal.

Just putting in another 6k Lipe, apparently the only other option is like 4-5 thousand and doesn't really hold up much better. Guess I'll just be replacing it every year or every other.

I slip it so much out of the hole to light the turbo. If im not 2300rpm and easy letting it out it will bog and then not accelerate hard. I think so more rpm would help me...

Might look into having someone change the puck material to something a little softer so it doesn't slip as bad.

Why don't you guys retrofit an air over hydraulic clutch actuator. That way a 100lbs girl could depress the pedal easily.

There is no way of knowing where you are with yor clutch engagement, it takes all the pedal feel out of it, and when coming of the line with a weight transfer sled behind you not being able to slip the clutch a little bit is a big deal.
