If you actually have algae in your fuel it's easy to go though 4 to 6 sets of filters. I try to add it when I know the truck will sit for a day. I fill up and add the Fuel Shock at a truck stop 15 miles from home so it gets through the fuel system but the tanks are still full so it kills everything on the tank walls. Nothing against bio diesel but it does grow algae easily.
I've got a Jetta diesel but I don't run biodiesel, just the regular low sulfur type. Should I be using Fuel Shock in it do you think?

I had this code come up and the engine died all together. It turned out that the turbo actuator shut off all of the exhaust flow from leaving the engine. Pulled the exhaust pipe off the back of the turbo and had someone crank the engine over to see if the turbo spins and nope. Once we figured that out we pulled the turbo off and the engine ran no problem.

I recommend everyone treat any diesel with biocide at least once every 3 months. It does seem like most fuel suppliers are treating the fuel now though. The problem was worse just after the switch to ultra low sulfur fuel, but still occurs now sometimes.
