| Minor differences, some difference in the interior, the Columbia is easier to see the road out of because of the hood. Early Century Class Freightliners are different from present day ones in layout as well, the first I saw was a '97. Still Freightliners so there may be minor warranty work to fix flaws. The Columbias I have driven have had less wind noise and are quieter driving down the road |

| I have driven both. I am on my 2nd Columbia The first one rattled to beat the band. The doorguts drove me nuts especially the lock mechanism evert little bump and the whole door vibrated. Iam now driving one that is brand new and the door guts have not changed since the first one My mechanic calls it a snap together truck. He liked my Century better as did I. |

| Is the door that much different? I haven't driven a Century in over 3 years now. The Columbia I drive now is not what I would consider a good truck but there is no noise in the doors, Also very little wind noise. I didn't drive the Century enough to really form an opinion, that particular truck had engine problems and has been retired lately. |

| Well, I ended up buying an '04 Columbia. 20,000 miles later and no major complaints. Granted, it is not a Volvo, but it is not as bad as a rattle box as the International 9400 I just got out of. I am a stickler about rattles and little noises. Heck, I have to reach up and pull the empty coat hanger out of the cabinet cause it was clunking around....this was done while driving.

| Columbia vs. Century Which is better? It's like being asked if you'd prefer to be hung with a new rope or an old one. I've driven both and think they're both awful. One of our mechanics said it was the nearest nothing of a truck he'd ever seen. Internationals are better. FLDs are better I think. I KNOW that the old Western Stars are better. They're built like tanks. Almost nothing rattles. Especially the door. |

| Well it has been 3 months and I don't have a problem with mine at all. The only regret is not getting a truck with the Data Computer Thingy on the dash or maybe even the 3.58 rears, but other than that...it has been good to me.

I'm glad you found one you like, that is the big thing, the one I drive is one of the first Columbias, and it has a low end ISX with a 10 speed. The trans was bad from before I got it and they ended up sticking a re manufactured one in it, I drove it today for the first time since it came back. I had some rattles in the door and found loose screws had fallen into the frame and not been retrieved, I was able to slide them out with a magnet and no more rattles. Visibility is good but those fenders are hard to see without sticking your head out the window. I see lots of dinged up drivers side fenders on Columbias. The sealed beam light on the Century does a better job of lighting in my opinion. I prefer the FLD to drive, the inside just makes more sense to me with where the switches are placed, and the indicators in the dash are easier to read. The mirrors aren't swamped with moisture when using the wipers like on the Columbia. |
