I've decided to trade my truck in for a new one. 2014-2015. Biggest decision factor is fuel mileage and storage (I pull a flatbed)
My current C15 acert has been running me dry for a full year now and I'm ready for a leap of faith until I trouble-free emission system truck.
I wished I could get the same T660 with the same specs on cummins power but I am uncertain of cost or how much it could be to order.
My truck is a 72" fancy studio with 260 WB, 13spd auto, Super singles, couch, fridge, sleeper windows, upper bunk, high rise heated seats, full gauges, GPS.. blah blah.. and 3.55 rears.
If the salesman can guarantee 10mpg I know I can pull at least 8.
I am willing to go volvo 730, pete 579 or kw t660 only. No freighliners nor t680s (cabs are too big for me)
If you drive new could you post your specs and fuel mileage to help me make a more based decision rather guessing.
Also if you have ordered a truck before (on your specs) would you care to explain how the process goes for me and every one else reading,
Thank you.
Shooting for 10 Mpgs in which new 2014-2015 truck?

Why can't you go for gliders. KW t660 glider available with any pre emission engine. Fitzgerald glider dealer can place a 12.7 detroit or cat c-15 6nz (single turbo).
My friend bought a 2013 cascadia that claimed it is 7-8 mpg truck with 3.58 rear , has newer aero package, and 13 sp. Turns out to be 5-6 mpg. -
I don't believe it's possible to get 8MPG out of a new engine with the way they are choked down. It was hard enough to get over 7mpg with a pre emission engine.

I am running 48 and truly feel the new emissions are here to stay, so I am going for a new truck.
I'm uncertain how the gliders fit in the carb deal. -
If you don't want to run to cali, stay away from cali. Fleet air filter, free flow muffler, Inflation, Super singles and undertray system may get a better mpg.

Not CARB compliant.
Can i bring your attention to part off Double Yellow's post:
It is worth it.(install a valve to reduce the air in the airbags off the tag should you find yourself in a sticky situation)
When you are spec'ing the new truck ask about a in-cab tyre monetoring system,it is worth the investment.
Hope this helps.Lucar Thanks this. -
kachup Thanks this.

If those three are your choices then you should be looking at the Pete 579. According to the Paccar's marketing it will get better fuel economy than the T660. My only complaint with the 579 is the armrests on the seats. They are too short.
