Good morning everyone and I have a problem with my 1997 freightliner fld 120 . The high beams are dim like a bad ground or something . If I turn the headlights on and click the dim switch for high beams it will stay on if i try to click it back off it won't . I changed both headlight relays and I had a spare turn signal switch tried that to. Does anyone know where the actually relay is for the dimmer switch is? I would greatly appreciate any help on this. Thanks

check your plugs in your headlight harness for corrosion. i had to replace a few sections of my driver side headlight harness on my fld because of corroded connectors, the harness parts i needed were in stock at my local f-liner dealer.

Yep, one of my shakers I ended up changing both the headlight plugs, I was surprised the plastic part of the plugs actually had started to melt, probably from extended periods of sitting running with the old style headlights turned on, they generated a lot of heat. I've since converted to LED headlights, but there's another story.

Same deal. I had the issue twice.... once a mechanic smoked too much grass that day and mixed up the wiring pins in the h4 plug and I had to pull em all out and re pin em.

Next time I just replaced my headlight harness ($700) because it had been repaired 10 too many times and was time to let er go. Worked like a top since.
