soo... after I had drive shaft, u joints, rear trans seal e.t.c. put in, the shop topped of trans fluid. ran 1500 miles, decided to check . just got off the road, today. truck was hot. I pulled the plug on side of trans on level ground & trans fluid pored out, about 1 qt. ??? should I check again when cold & top back off. or just leave it? I don't see how it could of been over filled, from the shop as it would just come back out the fill hole. is there THAT much difference in fluid level between hot & cold temp? I know temp build pressure, is that it? does filling it cold, put more pressure on the seals when fluid is hot & expands? cause premature leak in seals? I don't know of a any vent to relief pressure in trans, like in the rears.

Just as long as you have some coming out of or exactly level with the hole you are good, any less then you need to add.

Check it when it's cooled down a bit. Remember also that heat causes objects to expand.
Overfilling it... pressure is the main killer... breathability is another.
