Turbo shaft play?

    Anyone know what the spec is for a cat c-15 turbo shaft play? Both turbos have a little play in and out. Not side to side.....

    Exhaust manifold took a dump..... So here I am.....

    If you pull and or push on the shaft and it does not squeal, then it is perfect.

    Yep, just make sure the fins cannot scrape the housing.

    Tks.... I thought there was a actual measurement . Got a call into the local cat house, but I was to late ( Friday afternoon). Will find out Monday .

    And no they don't scrape the housing....


    Cat guy called me back (and on a Saturday) there is no published number on shaft play in/out. But he said a new acert turbo will have 3/1000 play and at 8/1000 you should start to think about replacement .....

    Mine are 6 and 7.... I'm going to put them back on and check play regularly ..... He agreed with this plan.
