Ok, my shifter has gotten super sloppy lately. It goes into gear and out just fine, so it's nothing with the gates. As i wiggle the shifter tho, i can see it wobble around on the top of the rod that comes out the top of the trans. Is there a bushing or grommet that goes where the shifter mounts to the top of the trans rod (like a ball and socket set-up maybe?). Just wondering. it's an eaton 13spd
Shift tower sloppy?

There is a rubber isolator in the bottom of the stick.
SHC Thanks this. -
It sounds like the isolator to me as well. Changed one on one of my Western Stars and added one to my old Ford (it didn't have one).
SHC Thanks this. -
That's what I figured. Gonna pull it apart Friday since I'm off. Thanks

The shifter ball has a key way in it, they get worn usually from people driving with there hand on the shifter, I needs to be removed it can be done thru the shifter boot, and welded up and all will be great, might need a new Key as well.
A gasket and a key a little welding and cut with a high speed cutter. They come apart from the inside.
Just a thought! -
Isolator x 3 . Question is, which SOX? Red or white? I'm guessing red, being crimson is already one of your favorite colors.

Wore out O-ring on top of the ball.
