Why aren't cabovers more popular, personally I like them. Thinking about getting on to fix up since you can get older ones a lot cheaper then conventionals. I think Freightliner is the only one that makes them much anymore.

are you by chance in the medford, or area...........seems to be alot of peoeple in that area that like those rough riding pigs up there

I miss em, but too many new people who have never driven before demand long hoods and chrome bumpers.. both which they normally knock off within the first month.

I like them.

I kind of fell in love with them while driving a Freightliner Argosy for a grocery hauling company. The first night on the job they sent me out in a Columbia with no lockers, after two hours playing around in the snow at the loading dock trying to get the damn thing unstuck I went into the office the next day and asked to be put on something that had lockers. They set me up with the "apartment building" as I affectionatly named it and I was in love. Very manuverable and easy to back up with the trailer, and I loved the view from way up there, and the doghouse was perfect for putting the paperwork on with out filling the passenger seat with it and having it all on the floor after the first bump. It did ride a little rough, but I learned to drive on a 1978 Kenworth with spring suspension, so the Argosy was like a Rolls Royce compared to that. I love the look of the old Kenworth and Freightliner cabovers as well, very classic looking trucks. And Broncrider, I live in Saskatchewan, Canada, but I work in the oil patch in Alberta, still like the cabovers though

My first first go around driving was in a '75 COE International and I came to despise that box shaped piece of feces after pushing the western states for 3 years. The one thing good thing about it was that it great at backing. I could slot it in anywhere, nothing conventional made today could match it. If I was driving delivery in a city like Chicago I'd want a COE day cab to do it in.

I am driving a 96 freightliner coe, car hauler.... has something like a 220 wheel base so it rides decent, only crappy thing is the headrack is only usable for cars, which makes every load require a car to start, which some times makes multiple stop loads have to zig zag around.

I dont like climbing into the sleeper, but at least I have a larger sleeper than the conventionals we have....

Loved the turning radius for cabovers but the ride over the steers was rough.

It would have had to improve 100% to be merely rough.

i dont really like em too much.....they look funny and if you get into a wreck with one of them and ur drivin it ur the first to die.......ive drove little Isuzu box trucks cab overs and when i was on the interstate doin 75 in it, i felt extremely uncomfortable
