| Well that is good to know, I will try and get up your way in the next couple of weeks. I'd sign about anything to get this truck to run atleast as good as it did before. Would like to know what good mpg is on 127 fls # 750hp. Thanks again for all you input. Tom |

| I'm about to buy an '05 475 CAT with the twin turbos, but some 'a you guys are scaring the cr*p outta me! (10 speed OD t2, 3:36's) This truck has about 2 years and 400k miles remaining on the factory 5yr/750k warranty and I hate ta screw that up. BUT - I love power as much as anyone, well - maybe not, but I like it a lot. AND - I want to get at least 6mpg... its got a Pro Heat APU on it so that'll help with the mileage. The dealer tells me that the ECM says the lifetime fuel mileage for these trucks is running 6.2 to 6.4. We all know that a dealer would never lie... SO - what can I do to jack it up sum without voiding the warranty? I already asked a similar question in another thread and got a very thorough and gracious answer from Sir 550, but I neglected to mention the warranty concerns. For example, imagine the shock and awe of the CAT tech when he sees a 3406B manifold on it! He might fall down and crack open his noggin. hehehe ![]() I have always favored Cats and want to buy this truck for several reasons, good price and terms, APU, etc. (no, I'm not crazy about the 10 speed but I'll yank it later) BUT - with the price of fuel and motor work today I am scared to make a buying mistake! Apparently, I can add the Platinum harness Pack - remember the original theme of this thread??? ![]() Can/should I have it set to the 550 specs? Anything else? Not to brag, but since I was out of trucking for some time I can afford to spend a few bucks on it, especially if it's more fun and gets better mileage! hahaha But the warranty... yikes! Maybe I can't have it all... As you can see my brain is about to explode from over thinking this |

| Personally I wouldn't want a twin turbo POS. I think the dealer is lying about the 6.2 average on the ECM. Take it to an independent shop and have them pull a print out.

| personally I would look for a 03 or older. the twin turbo in order to get uchmore from it needs to be converted to a single turbo and that gets pricey from what I've been reading. the twin turbo's are small and thus restrictive so these motors don't respond too well from afterarket upgrades like better flowing exhaust. definatly ask to see the printout and make sure the vin matches the truck. don't trust them, I doubt it's averaging that high with the ten speed. I don'tknow if pete tech has been around much lately. you might try pm'ing him the vin number. he can look it up and tell you where the truck came from and the repair history on it |

Any KW dealer can tell you about the truck and CAT can tell you about the engine.
