| From what I know of the ExtrudeHone porting process, you're probably better off going with the 3406B manifold. Extrudehone originally found its place in the automotive hobby for stock class racers who needed their manifolds to look stock. The increase in the port size is actually quite small.

| I agree. not a significant change in size. Even when they do injector tips it can take a while to get those orifices to really open up. Hard to see it with the naked eye |

| I make a GREAT muffler made out of 100% stainless steel for less than $100. Take 14 Puritan Stew cans, 12 Campbell's Soup cans, and 2 pounds of steel wool....

| That's FUNNY ![]() It's almost time to pull the trigger and get the truck - and I'm gettin' cold feet! Saw an 00 Freightliner Classic XL condo for sale locally, 500 Detroit, 13 OD just rebuilt, 3:58's, all the tires r balder than a baby's butt but it seems like a decent ride, shows 682,000. It will need brakes soon. I think it can be bought for $8,000. My older friend/mentor is encouraging me to buy this instead of financing a newer shiny large car. I put the pencil to it. The payment on the W9 will be $1631 with only $5600 DP. Yes it's high because I have no credit history for 7 years - was living in Costa Rica. Anyway, according to the APU web page I'll save $700 to $800 a month on fuel using their Pro Heat APU. I'll be in the truck 6 1/2 nights a week. The numbers make sense. The 05 has warranty left to 750,000 miles. Then there's the factor of the unknown history 682,000 mile truck vs. the 381,000 fully documented truck. I guess -ti - mate that truck A will cost maybe $400-$500 a month more to maintain than Truck B? Between the fuel savings and the reduced repair costs I'll probably save $1100 or $1200 of the $1600 payment??? Then there's the intangible value of peace of mind and reduced downtime... Then there's the tax writeoffs available on the 05... And then there's the Real Problem - my EGO wants a big shiny black hood with plenty o'chrome and HP too! I'm single, no bills and a small income from another source. What a blessing! My point is that I had to look alot deeper to see the real cost of one truck vs another. I think I just talked myself back into the big KW!

| that's too much for a FS that you will have to put $4k in tires on, do a brake job and at those miles you have to expect a motor rebuild soon. Now if you KNOW for a fact they took great care of the motor I wouldn't worry but otherwise the detroits can go about then if it was the best PM schedual and had drivers in it. I like detroits but they have to be taken care of |

| Everyone here knows a ton about Cummins(except me...I'm one of the new guys). The problem is all we seem to get in are cats! We probably see 5 cats to every Cummins in the back shop and we're a cummins dealer!. Seems that people arn't satisfied with them for whatever reason and want more HP or fuel mileage. As for new motors I know Jerry likes Detroit’s. If you call up on a slow day he can probably give you a good recommendation |

| so...did anyone else try these harnesses? I originally went to this thread to get statistics on what fuel mileage/hp improvement people are getting with them. Gotta keep an eye on the competition |
