Is it really noticeable power? More turbo boost, fuel psi? Care to give the shops name who sold it to you? I would be interested in a 100hp for 265 bux. I heard about these but the ebay ones seem shady. My 03 C15 is a pre bridge 550hp and in my 290"wb KW it gets horrible milage and the EGTs (exhaust gas temps) are sky high too, 1150 degrees sometimes, damn KW restrictive mufflers, and im wondering if that will change. I have a manual boost controller on my wastegate, basically a fish tank bleeder valve with 4 valves, if i open all 4 it will hold 37psi and surprisingly my EGTs went down a bit. I was ready to buy the pittsburgh power computer but for $2500 bux ill have a set of C16 marine injectors and MI CAT program good for about 1000hp lol.

I can tell a big difference, virtually got rid of the turbo lag and from my best calculations, fuel mileage has improved 4 to 5 tenths. I can tell the power difference on hills, too. The website is [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. . They are out of Atlanta, and was very helpful and courteous. I think it was well worth the money.

I'm curious as to how these things work.

And if I can get a .4 mpg boost it'll pay for itself in a short time.

I am not real familiar with this perticular product but the way these type of systems work is that you plug them betwen the sensors and the scm and they get the signal from the sensor and change it before sending it to the ecm therby tricking the ecm into thinking there is an operating condition which there is not. Example might be altering the signal from the turbo telling the computer that boost is low thereby causing the motor to release more fuel to increase the exhaust flow therby increasing boost. etc etc.

This is the reason factories don't like things like this. they don't like people tinkering with the programing. And how well these things work is totally reliant on the person creating them and how well they know there motors.

Personally I'd go or the pittsburg power computer. It addresses all the systems not just one or two so that everything stays in sync. It is expensive but the money you will save in fuel will pa for it in no time and the grin on your face is priceless I've sen some big HP with those computers.

Any time you increase efficiency you will increase power and fuel mileage. well, as long as you can keep your foot out of it. But that's the good part of having all that power, you won't need it all like you do now

Thanks Roadhound, i just ordered mine. Cant wait for it now, ill let you guys know the results as well when i try it out. Im gonna dump that restrictive KW muffler as well, i cant get any better than 4-4.5mpg running west with 42k lbs in the box. Maybe 5mpg with a good tail wind coming back east and going downhill.

my t800 had a smaller cat than yours and I could only get 4.68 to 5mpg with it so you aren't doing too bad. getting rid of that muffler will help though.

all th new acert motors get worse than the old E's did. don't know why either.

I know when they switched to the ultra low sulfer my cat really protested. And running it on Lucas paid for itself in fuel savings twice over.

I dont have a ACERT its a normal pre-bridge C15 550hp CAT single turbo. I have tried lucas, put a gallon in it every week and it seems to help. My guess is like yours its the crappy ULSD.
