Ive never had one pop off, maybe because all the clamps are new, also i have the newer style high boost couplers that they use on acert's. They are really sticky once they warm up.

You are not hurting the motor by surging the turbo, just the turbo, basically its going from spinning 80,000rpm (for example) to dead stop in 1/10th of a second and spinning backwards. The turbo wont live long if this happens all the time, i hardly ever get mine to surge, i shift slow and before i let off the throttle i back out of it gently and let boost fall slowly then let go of throttle and shift. I dont get the surge this way, or if im beating on the truck, i speed shift it and the boost doesent have enough time to fall, and it wont surge either, but thats kinda abusing the trans so i dont do it........ much

I think the C manifold is the same as the B, ill find out tomorrow for sure and let you know..... Have to look at the motor in the barn.

Put a blow off valve on it imagine the noiseI double clamped my pipes just in case might have over done it though.Found a old guy that has a shed full of older CAT engines amazing amount of parts mostly B and C engines.
Got a manifold but in three pieces he said they can be machined and refitted with great results. You are right the older manifolds are huge compaired to the C16.Looks like theres no way it will fit my engine cant wait to try it though,

LOL it will fit, it fit on my C15 no problem. Yeah make sure you get it done right so it dont leak at the slip flanges, it would be better for you if you found one in one piece though.

As far as clamps one is plenty, they are T bolts and will not back off, pipes are bead rolled so its impossible.

Gonna have to get me some twin HKS super sequentials like all the ricers, will roll through town and pshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh pshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh pshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh pshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh lol

LMAO over here you go through a lot off small towns with the buildings real close to the road, put your foot right up it hit full boost the noise is incredible bouncing off the windows(so Ive heard I would never do it lol)Looks like I wasted $300 on extra clamps never mind.finding a complete one piece in good nic is hard,Whats the difference between the B and C ?
