Hey 550;
Well i'm still fighting Dayton Kw about putting this damn low nox stuff in my ECM. I even showed them the notice sent to all dealers from CAT that this is not mandatory by FEDS or CAT.
I put a pitts box on and it does help when the DAMN ecm lets it build boost past 8lbs, My ? to you is can you or someone you know change my FLS?FTS codes if I come up to Michigan.
I did find out that this ECM is not password protected. HELP 4.3 mpg with box off and 4.9 to 5.1 is killing me after makinf 6.8mpg on qaurterly reports.
Thanks in advance for all your help.........

I cant do it, i dont have a CAT ET, my buddy here cant do it either, to get to the FLS and FTS you need a password no matter what ecm. Its damn near impossible for CAT to do it, i use to have a guy that worked at CAT but he got fired for this very reason. One thing i would do is get a B model manifold, that will help a lot, and get rid of the mufflers.

Hey 550, a few days ago you recommended 75mm nozzles, a turbo change and a FASS for my buddy's 3406C to get better fuel mileage. He called the famous guy in PA and was again recommended the FASS, said it would give about .4MPG boost.

Are you using one? Anyone out there using one 'a these??? What do you think of it?

Well muffler has been replaced with a straight threw style muffler and it did help about .7. what is the deal with the 3406B manifolds, better flowing i would assume, And I think the fellow at cat who got fired is the the man who set FTS FLS codes and 5232 inj codes when the frist owner had it done in michigan.( he also was fired for doing it)
Well I guess I keep fighting Dayton KW they should have never put the low nox in it to begine with since it went in to have a heavy haul 550 code, and after returing the 2nd time was told they dont have hh550 code for 3406e, they only have them for the c-15,c-16.
and acording to publication from Cat I found on the web they should have told me frist and gave me the chance to accepted it or decline it and sign a waiver.
Anyhow thanks and I stop crying on your shoulder and take it up with Dayton Cat

Mark i dont have the FASS.

Notguilty, tell CAT this is a toy truck you use for pulling, have them flash their off road "puller program" in it. You have to sign a waiver saying you wont use it on the street . They only have these for the older 40 pin ecm 3406E's. I know of a couple guys running these and they are very happy. Its about 800hp on the stock injectors, runs cool on the exhaust and gets good millage. Yes the 3406B ports are almost twice the size of the 3406E, C15, C16, its good for 50hp at the minimum and really un corks the motor. Only down side to this is a slightly weaker jake brake since you are getting rid of so much back pressure.

They might play dumb and say there is no such thing but trust me there is, i doubt KW has these, you might have to go straight to a CAT dealer.

Hello all

I have been following this thread and listening to different options guys are using for fuel mileage and power. I am a Cat tech but left Cat a couple of years ago. I have had very good results with tuning for fuel mileage.

I have the programs to change fuel settings and flash ecms to any hp. If anyone is interested, I live in Canada, so you may have to send your ecm to me for mods. PM me for more information.

DDS
