I'm guessing that a "relieving" type is necessary here, but will have to wait till my truck is here to see if I need the 1/8", or 1/4" ports.

Mentioning SurplusCenter is all thats needed. The site owner has filters in place for sites that spam the Trucker's Report with advertising.

If you have a part number then folks can search for the item that way.

droy, 830hp is right on the money, you can either grind the manifold or the thermo stat housing. No it wont put to much heat out, the E model is very close to the T stats itself. I have about a 1/4" in between mine to allow for expansion, been running it a while now with no issues.

kenworth9 im sure CAT would give you the operating rpm you need, as long as you dont mess with the fuel setting, tell them its a puller truck and you need the rpm's. Just be carefull with reving it to 2700rpm, at that point you are dangerously close to floating valves, 2600rpm is safe with the double valve spring.

Also kw9 is right on the money about the pressure relief valve, i had to use one on mine with a 50psi boost cut in the ecm

Catprint Red new to the board......

I have been reading over this thread and a few others for a few months and it seems there is a great deal of good info here!
I have an 05 379, 435 turned to a 550 1850. 1650t, 13 spd trann., 3.55 rears. I believe the motor serial starts with BSN or BXN..... any way good motor vs. HSX serial (475hp). I have the power harness on the turbo side with a 2.2k resistor and we get 5.1 mpg on average pulling a 53ft cow trailer.

I haven't used the power harness yet on the fuel side yet. What I was wondering about was more toward the hard parts; Changing the turbo to a Michigan stage 5, 3406b manifold, 6NZ heads and rockers, 1LW cam, 6NZ ECM with 5232 fuel trim, FLS 127 and FTS 0........This is all doable with my motor? What else would you suggest doing? Thanks,

You are forgetting the huge and absolutely ridiculous 800hp injectors

I may be wrong but the injectors that I already have are big enough.

If you are running stock injectors there is no point running a stage 5.

Your injectors are not big enough for a stage 5 and stock ecm programming, you can run the turbo but it will be laggy. You dont need to swap heads unless you want to get rid of the variable valve crap. The cam wont need changing either, but if you can find a 1LW or 2WS cam that sucker is the most bang for your buck.

3406B manifold
stage 5 MI turbo
6NZ ecm
10R-0959 marine injectors

You will have a 15.2 liter motor pushing 900hp to the tires, the hardest thing for you will be getting your hands on a modified ecm, finding one is like looking for a needle in a haystack. But a stock 6NZ ecm should put you close to those power levels. Now if you can find a C-16 7CZ ecm, even with stock fuel codes that fooker is a 100hp upgrade over a stock 550hp computer. I say with a boost wire and a fuel temp wire, single turbo conversion you will be happy, put some more injector in it and you will really be smilling.

I might be able to get my hands on a VERY hot 40 pin 5EK computer..... bronc wink wink lol.

The maximum RPM is part of the flash file so CAT is not publishing any flash file over 2300rpm for 3406e or C-15 engine. I saw a couple and the engine that i'm working is already built to run at 3100rpm without danger to touch. The only thing I need is someone who will help me to make it turn much faster.
If someone is able or know someone make me a sign!!
