| hello i'm new to all this motor BS and it all sounds greek to me. do I understand the jist of all this by now thinking that its better to buy a truck with an older engine and do alot of maintenance than it is to buy a new truck with a warranty. that is if I want power and fuel econ. this might be a stupid question but i've been reading alot on here because I'm thinking about buying my own truck. thanks for any help!! |

| It depends on truck an dhow it was treated really, when im looking for trucks i ask for a ecm report on the engine & any history of the truck. I like them to be no more than 550k miles, i bought my KW with 650k on the clock and its doing ok though. Depends on what you are hauling but a C15 with 475/550hp, 13 or 18 speed with .73 top gear ratio and 3.55s rears will be more then enough for what you wanna do, if weights not a issue go for the 86" studio sleeper.
