UPDATE

So on average running out to AZ i seem to have picked up about half a mile per gallon. Only thing i noticed that in higher elevations, from santa rosa, NM to moriarty, NM my C15, 6NZ serial, started to fluctuate turbo boost by as much as 10psi, it would drop from 35 to 25psi and back up, once i got down into albuqurque it was back to normal. I would say this is a pretty good investment, it will pay itself off in 1 or 2 trips for me. The turbo lag is almost gone, and you can definetly feel the extra power, some hills i noticed i picked up half a gear and 5mph or so climbing. Only thing for guys who run california i would stop and take the harnesses off before i cross the state line, im sure those DOT bears wouldnt like the black smoke.....

I've been ticketed in CA for excesive smoke. And that was 9 years ago so I would tend to agree with you

What the power harness might be

I heard of the power harnesses....have been several places i have found them at...
(web search caterpillar power harness)... i have not learned how to do the fuel one yet...but far as the turbo boost...i was told how to do it without buying the $120 + harness... i installed what one person tole me the other day....was told to go to radio shack and buy a 2.2 ohm resistor....cut a certin wire in that set of wires in that harness....solder the resistor in...tape it up....and is done deal....so i did....my reaction time on the pedal has went from turbo lag to practicly no lag...far as the power....have gained on the bottom end...have not found any extra on top end... wich from 1 site that is for bottom end only any how...it does now have the black smoke come out...and have found several unknown exhaust leeks that i am now repairing...far as millage... i havent gotten to run enough to find that out as of yet...and this is on a 2000 3406e model single turbo motor...so instead of spending the $120 + for the harness... (would be nice if i had to unplug and replug it for sertin reasons)
...the .25cent resistor seems to be doing the same thing...so far the reson of the post...someone asked why and how...how seems to be the resistor...why...suposidly the sensor has to be toled their is like 8 lbs of pressure before kicking the turbo in...and the resistor just makes your ecm think their is always 8 lbs on it already... also noticed my turbo pressure went from topping out at around 26 is not around 32...so their far no turbo lag time between mashing the fule tween shifting...also another ? asked was just cat...i saw on a couple of the search pages were their are harnesses for other motors...hope ya find what ya looking for..and this helped answered a question or 2

yup, that's how they work. the other one would work the same way you just need to find out how it's wired and what with. probably could figure it out easy enough with an ohm meter

Switch

Run a wire from each side of the resistor to a toggle switch, off allows it to run thru the resistor, on bypasses it for stock power & emissions. I run an ignition system in my racecar that uses a resistor to run but I bypass it for hotter spark when cranking. Works great!

I have a 3406E motor. I purchased the platinum power package. Upon receiving my shipment I received a square looking harness and a triangle looking harness. Can anyone give any pointers on installing both harness. The intructions from the package are not detailed and too vague. I believe the square harness goes to the fuel pump and the triangle to the intake boost sensor. I'm having trouble locating the wires to connect

The fuel temp wire plugs into the fuel filter housing base at the top, there is a connector on top next to the primer pump. The boost sensor harness plugs into the boost sensor which is located by the inlet pipe right on the head, just follow the wiring till you get a connector and plug it in there. the square connector should be the fuel and triangle the boost, im not 100% as my C15 might be different but there really is no way to screw it up since most of the sensors have different size plugs.

I actually ordered both and I can't wait to try them out, I was just wondering if anyone else had tried them yet.
Just got mine in the mail last weekend and already put it on, I got the two harness deal they advertise . You guys were right it totaly eliminated turbo lag and gave me some much needed torque, it made my(acert) Kitty into a CAT kinda runs like my old E-model aint run it long enough to see if it helped my MPG's yet but I do like the little bit of smoke between gears.
