Yes.

Awesome!!!

I got the downloader a couple of days ago.

Loaded the tune, (really easy)

Went for a run empty.
Today, I did about 400km down the freeway and everywhere in the city.

The truck pulls so much better than stock.
Has better throttle response, and is just nicer to drive.

The boost is up about 25 - 30 kpa. It now sees 410kpa on a hill (60 something PSI).

Exhaust temps are up slightly on the same hills, (maybe 30c)

Don't know about economy, don't care really.
It seems to be better.

My truck is an acert 550 with straight through mufflers and a fuel wire.
Other than that stock and brand new.

I wanted a bit more power, better fuel economy, and didn't want wires and boxes and stuff all over the place.

The truck is still under warranty and I would like it to stay that way.

When it's old and worn out and I am building a new engine, I would probably do cams and injectors and the like, but I am really happy with the additional power and a nice new unmolested truck.

Highly recomended.

Tony

I was hoping that adjusting the timing would have brought the EGTs down a bit,if mine were to climb another 30*C that would be pushing 700*C (1300*F)EGTs on my stock C16.
Thanks for the info Tony.

How can these engines handle this sort of boost and the older C-15/16s can not....Whats different ?????

You tell CAT that your C-16 is making 50psi boost and they start doing back flips and foaming at the mouth

Thanks for the info Tony.

Having said that, I haven't seen 550c yet.

I have no doubt that with a bigger load and a longer hill it will go over 550c but nothing like 700

My truck is rarely ever at max weight, as I carry hay and other lighter type stuff.

I " THINK " its because of the VVAs. Acerts need to move alot of air for the "poor mans EGR " system they use. i dont think the cylinder actually "sees" 50 -60 psi

I don't know either.

Jas would probably have a better idea as he is on these things all day.

You can certinally hear the air going through the turbos.

I'm guessing but it makes about 10-12 psi above a std 550acert
I'm sure the 625hp tune would be with more boost, and maybe more EGT too.

PaulE is right, the VVAs hold the intake valve open as the piston begins to return back up the bore on the compression stroke, this basically lowers the dynamic compression ratio and therefore cylinder pressure, as you know you can put in more boost with lower compression. Its based loosely on the "Miller cycle" I think.

Tony, can you program multiple engines with the one bully dog box or is it serial number locked?
