| Got a used turbo boost "stinger" from b i l, he tried it on his '01 C-15 550; no noticable difference. Put it on my '01 C-15 500, EGHADS!!!!!! ![]() Did it ever wake that truck up! MPG went up approx. .4 to average of 5.4 Low end response was great, only complaint was smoke, (LOTS of smoke), # gear change. In May, I up graded (?). to an '04 C-15 475 that is a DOG!- Real sick puppy is more accurate. I honestly don't think it has 400hp # the flywheel. Dealer researched, and found out that motor was built to be 475 # 2100 RPM. I shift out usually around 1400, so it doesn't reach potential. dealer also says only way to increase hp is injector and turbo swap, about $3000. Has anyone went this route?... Satisfied? I put the turbo stinger on "sick puppy", very little, or no gain on power, fuel mileage has went up consistantly from ecm lifetime of 4.86, to 5.20, but I have no idea what type of trailer, and driver habits previous owner had. I think I'll try to order the fuel system gizmo, and hope for improvement. Sorry for the rambling hijack, but interested in getting as much info as possible in this area. Any help/advice would be appreciated. |

| If that 04 is a twin turbo ACERT POS then your complaint that its a sick dog is very common. Unhooking the waste gate vacuum line on the turbo helps with a couple lbs of boost on these older models.

| Oops- Forgot to mention that; One of the reasons I traded was to get a newer single turbo. |

Don't go down to the CAT store and tell them you have a bridge motor. At least not at WY CAT. They'll be glad to tell you that you have C15s and then there are C15 ACERTS.

| I don't know about the POS part mine is an 04 twin-turbo and I will tend to disagree with you, that harness combo did help out alot but even bebore the harness change it still performed good exept for for the tubo-lag .Now I have put about 1200 miles since the harness change and have not seen any change in my MPG's but as far as power ,yea I highly recomend it . |

| Reason I called it a POS is that lots of folks don't like the twin turbo set up and it hasn't seemed to be one of CATs better ideas. I personally have heard a lot of complaints on power, MPGs and reliability on them. And don't want one myself. I would probably buy a truck with a Cummins before a CAT twin turbo.
