| Installed 700hp borg warner turbo on 3406b set the pump up as far as can go using full travel of torque spring cannot seem to get enough fuel to the motor, 35 psi manifold pressure only runs 700 exhaust temp. had the pump apart couple times checking servo and rack control its ok, does anybody know anything about 3406c marine injection pumps being bigger! Have set up several engines similar to this have not had any problems getting 550 to 600 hp need to figure out how to get enough fuel to this thing to match this big turbo! Any sugestions! |

| Wow, lot of reading catching up on this thread. Great info! I came across the harnesses on ebay and found this thread in looking for more info and glad I did. I'm thinking of trying it out on my '01 6NZ, which is pretty much stock AFAIK. It's factory rated at 500/1850, what is involved in going to 550, just an ecm mod from CAT? Worth spending the money just for that uprate? Quote:
Looks like he made typo on the connector p/n though, the 3-pin female should be DT06-3S not DT04-6S. Hope this helps. Has anyone ever confirmed the proper resistances? I've seen 100 and 150 for the fuel temp and 200 and I think 220 for the boost. Aerodyne shows 150&200, he says he modeled it after other harnesses, I wonder if he got the exact values off of it or not. Aerodyne?? |

| If you get a moderator to send me a Personal Message, I can get your ECM reflashed with a 600 hp file if you're interested. It will be well worth the money for the upgrade. |

| FYI on the connectors, if you want to make them yourself and are looking for cheaper sources than ebay. There's a webstore called Wirecare you can get these connectors from that has a nice easy to understand layout and even offer the connectors in 3 colors. If you really want them cheap, Amphenol makes some you can find at most electronics supply like Mouser. Just got to automotive connectors and select Amphenol as manuf. Their part numbers are slightly different. Just replace the DT??-?? with AT??-?? and don't forget the locks and pins. You can get them pretty cheap, in fact I think I'm going to buy several of different sizes just to have for projects that need a good HD connector. If anyone needs help with the p/n's just let me know. I have some other stuff to order from Mouser, so I think I'll get some from there. Quote:
![]() My ECM is actually fairly new (reman) I had to have it replaced after a lighting strike last year. I should've had them turn it up then. |
