Caterpillar power harness
Has anyone heard of or tried the power harness for Caterpillar engines? There are actually 2 different ones available, one plugs inline with your boost sensor and the other inline with your fuel temp sensor. They are supposed to get rid of turbo lag, help throttle response and add about 40 hp per harness. I actually ordered both and I can't wait to try them out, I was just wondering if anyone else had tried them yet.

Because it's about $2000 cheaper.

I think a lot of the ones on ebay are homemade. I ordered mine from a diesel performance dealer in Atlanta. They seem to know a lot about there product and Cat engines, so I figured I would try it.

I thought I would post if anyone were interested that I installed the power harnesses on my truck and pulled my first load today and WOW!!! I could not believe the power increase and throttle response. I loaded some steel coils today weighing in at about 45,000 lbs., and it was like driving a different truck. Take off from a dead stop is a lot easier and gets up to speed a lot faster. Some hills I went over where I used to have to spilt or drop a gear, kept right on trucking in high gear. I can very easily tell the power difference. I have to leave for El Paso Saturday, so I will let you guys know if it made any difference in the fuel mileage, good or bad. Hopefully GOOD!

Is this power harness available for any other engines or just Cat, wondering about Detroits? Will it change anything as far as the emissions goes that you know of? How much is it too? How hard is it to install and what does it take to do the installation? Thanks for the information and definatley keep us informed as to how it performs.

These harnesses are for Cat engines only. I haven't heard of any for Detroit or Cummins. The manufacturer of the harness does state that they are not emission legal but will not harm the engine. They install very easily, less than 5 minutes. One harness plugs in between your boost sensor and factory harness and the other between your fuel temp. sensor and factory harness. Cost was $264.00 shipping and all.

Thats certainly a lot less than $2499 for a Pittsburg Power box.
I've got my boost tube unhooked. That'll give you another 4 lbs boost. It is noticeable. Ask Broncrider.
