| I'd have to think it is like todays newer cars and trucks that use the pink or red anti freeze . It does not have to be changed as often and has different stuff in it to protect the metals of todays cooling systems and engines as well . It also has a higher boil point compared to the green anti freeze so the engines can run warmer , which helps produce less emissions . Hope this helps you .

| it's mainly becuse of what they put in it from the factory. Red is VERY picky about not liking to mix with green. if you do mix them it will start eating away at metal. Red also doesn't like ANY air in the system. I hate red antifreeze. I drain and flush it and use green. They say it is for the different metals etc in modern vehicles but green works just as good or better, you just have to drain it more. f course if you have warrenty then you need to use what the factory recomendation is |

| I also used to drive A 777F cat dump truck in the mine and we also used red anti and red dyied diesel. they also used red anti freeze in the older 777D cat engines and also in the komatsu trucks |

| The red antifreeze has additives that stop the electrolisis in the engine blocks with dissimilar metals. As for the "red dyed diesel fuel" that is for off road only. It has nothing different in it other than dye so DOT can tell if it is off road. You do not pay the highway taxes on off road diesel and with it in an onroad commercial truck, the fines could reach the tens of thousands.....

| Actually ,there is no industry standard set up by color but, chances are if your company runs earthmoving equipment they have standarized the entire operation on Cat Extended Life Coolant which offers protection for 6 years,600,000 miles. This coolant requires no periodic additive like SCA or DCA. Only maintenance is 1 quart of Extender at 300,000 miles or 3 years.Bottom line is with this product there is less maintenance and reduced cost to the operation. It's good stuff! |

| I believe the pink stuff is also non-toxic, as opposed to green. I use that in my truck.
