Doesn't look bad. The 22.5's killed it for me though. It is a little high on the miles but if the price is right...

Not sure about any overhauls. It would certainly need one soon if it hasn't had one already. I imagine for the price, it needs one. Otherwise, I'm sure they'd be asking for about $20K more.

I am going to call tomorrow or Tuesday to ask for more info.

I would say that judgeing by the specs, the miles, and the style of the truck, it is a exbullhauler. Who ever had it certainly never let any dust sttle with that mileage. be careful because if it is a bullhauler they run those trucks hard.

Nice looking truck. Very clean. I would have to find out if it had an overhaul or not. If it didnt I would offer about 10g less cause of the mileage and see where they go. If I bought it I would have it overhauled, tranny too and inspect the rears. It wouldn't hurt in the looks department to drop the 22's for some 24's either...LOL Oh yeah change the 6" stacks out to 8's or tens but I think 7's or 8's look best. Not too big but big enough to cover the gap between the cab and sleeper....Just my .02.

I ran the vin through Paccar and Cat. The truck belonged to an owner operator, therfore, I'm not going to name any names. The truck was put inservice 6/3/02, and according to the milage, ran hard ever sinceAccording to Paccar warranty records, this truck has had a TON of claims, small stuff like A/C and wheel seals and such. Either the driver was picky and took great care of it, or it was one of those trouble trucks built on a Monday

According to Caterpillar, about every 2 years this truck would crack an exhaust manifold, for some reason. there has been a handfull of manifolds put on this truck, and a couple of turbos also.

That being said, If I were in your shoes, I would walk away and keep looking, but if you have your heart set on it, I would at least roll in a set of rod and mains, change the lube in the tranny and both rears, and drive it till she quits!!

C15, C16, 3406E are known to crack the turbine housing on turbo and the manifold, most of the time its just stress cracks and people get scared. My old 3406E i had had both cracked and ive ran it for 500k miles, it doesent crack all the way through, just stress cracks on outside or inside of turbine. If your worried you can get the C18 manifolds and port them..... more power..... or theres a guy that sells performance manifolds but they are pricy, i had his web site but cant find it...... My opinion on the truck is STAY AWAY, if it has no major stuff done be prepared to spend 15K if you do it yourself, or close to 30k on motor and trans if you let dealer do it. They wont go down on the price more than 5k if your lucky, or try to work out a deal with em and have them do a inframe on it before you buy it, trans can be had for 3-4k if you know where to look.
