I have driven many Centurys and even a Classic XL and they both SUCKED. My buddy was always a Pete guy and one day I rode with him and I coudln't belive how nice it was in a 379 compared to the centurys/classics. Not only are they nice to drive, there is WAY MORE chrome and accessorys available for Petes.
Plus RESALE VALUE I know KW and Petes hold the highest resale value out there for trucks.
Petes rule!!!!!!!!

No one has mentioned the Western Stars. Nice roomy sleepers, huge cabs, big CAT engines, solid builds like the KWs and Petes, better turning radius, but don't have the extra premium price tag that goes along with the name.

Have had nothing but petes before my star. They rode good and had a good resale but I dont like cats. This star I have now has lots more room, rides better and is nicer inside than the last pete I had. Only reason I might go back to a paccar truck isto get a red motor.
Who knows,,,, I may get a Lonestar next time.

I got a ride in a 2001 4900EX and was very un impressed, rattles, rides like crap with them shocks mounted under the sleeper, and volvo like windows, cant escape that sun no matter when, i do agree about the turning, its way tighter. I like my CATs in my opinion the red motors are a big waste of iron, yes i said it, big whoop wanna fight about it? lol But seriously they run like the old 855s 300k and its time for a inframe, especially the old sig 600.
Its kind of like this

Sorry, but my Western Star is a 2000, pre-Freightshaker merger deal. Now, I don't know what the newer models are like after they've been driven a while, but the only vibration noise my Star makes is when one of the shelves in the sleeper vibrates on its mounting plate (it needs to be welded back together, but it still holds weight!). 1.3 million miles on the truck and that's the only noise.

No rattles in my 06, has the cherry cabinets in it. As faras the cat thing, had an 02 379 272" wb and a 550. Was the first I had drove since the old mechs. and it blew the first time at 170,00 and I drove it to the 400,00 mark and got rid of it. Was my one and only bad experience but I tend to hold a grudge.
