Yeah Mulie, it's a tough call. I would rather have a truck w/700k that had been driven and maintained properly than a CR England or Werner that had 10lbs of shavings in the trans and God knows what else. You're right I have never seen a Wally truck broken down longside the road. Seen a bunch of subs pulling their trailers crapped out. Never had one pass me going 80 mph either. Drivers say they pay good and that always tends to make a good driver respect his equipment. If you're not pissed about your money all the time it makes any job more enjoyable. Still I would make sure and have dough put back for overhaul and other stuff that is coming sooner or later. Kind of like do you take a hit on 16 or stand. Sometimes you win and others the dealer.

700k is alot unless you an buy it outright. If you can then go for it. If you still need a loan then I'd look for something else.

I used to work at Westrux International and we sold a ton of the old cabovers and conventionals from Wal-mart. The trucks we had with 800,000 miles ar higher would sell about 13,900 for cabovers and 23,900 for conventional condos. We had trucks fron J.B. Hunt, Comet, CRST, WAL- MART, and Shenieder. The harbor guys would buy them up.

Wally world does take good care of their equipment, and because they require more experience than most other companies, their trucks tend to be driven better as well.

The three straps on that tank are because it is a big tank (at least for an FL). Funny on the specs though, all the cornbinders (and the few Volvo's they have) are usually specced with 2.64 or 2.79 rears and 10 spd directs. The Volvos had Volvo motors, and there were a bunch available with Tripacs on them already (they were midroofs, not condos like the FLs).

Seems like a good deal, but if you have to finance then you want to make sure that moolah is there for any work that you might need.

Wallbanger, isn't the 3 straps needed because they are dual 150gal? Also what year were the Volvo trucks?

Yeah KH, since those look like 150's they would have three straps. At least the last Columbia I had was setup that way (mine did have full fairings).

If my memory serves, the volvos were either '04s or '05s, mileage was much lower (around 300k), so the price was much higher (around $50-$60k) than their Cornbinders and FLs. I had good luck with the last Volvo I had, so for me I would seriously consider one of those- even though I prefer a red motor to that green one!

Are they buying Volvos still? I saw a picture on a website that has a Pete 386 in Walmart colors.
