I have been in and out of the trucking industry in all sorts of different vehicles for the past 10 years, only recently have I jumped into O/O and I don't know it all. It is a learning curve that will continue the rest of my life. When I give info I am ready to back it up by personal experience and not because I know a friend who did this or that. Keep your nose to the stone and try to learn as much as you can if your intent is to become a Truck Driver. Don't be afraid to relay advice but please don't come off as you are giving it with no possible means to back up your statements. The folks here will have much more respect for you if you present things in the true manner in which they came to you.
You know the old tale My truck get this much MPG and runs this fast uphill loaded. My truck is the best on the market. And all this is said in a truck stop.

I'm driving a 06 columbia with full aero package. THe most fuel efficient michilin tires you can buy, a 45 cat with ultrashift. governed to 65mph

Right now I've got 13k in the box and I'm averageing a bit over 7mpg through AR with no idle time on this run. and a trialer with the x-one tires

My last load from houston to Monroe LA with 45000 of bleach I had to work REAL hard to get 5.5mpg out of it and that is essentially flat land.

And don't try to tell me it's a difference in driving habits. these ultrashift basically take any driving habit out of the equation since it only accelerates and shifts as it feels the need to so you honestly mash your foot on the pedal and don't take it up untill it's time to stop.
