| Side mirrors are closer to the windows on a Classic. Classic has more rooom...they say. I didn't see it. MPG differance is insignificant IMO. Dash Layout is a bit diff. Not an issue really. Not a whole lot of differance really.

| Another question: Which is better an o/o: A Classic or Century/Columbia? King

| The mirrors on a Classic are cab mounted the Century/Columbia are door mounted. Also the Classic is a set forward axle compared to a setback axle on the Century/Columbia setup. I think you'll see more o/o's in a Classic. The Century/Columbia is more of a fleet truck. |

| Thanks for the replies guys. One more: Is the FLD a classic or a FLD SD. I often get confused as you see one with fairings and the other without. I have always liked the look of a classic/FLD and think they are reliable work horses. Hunter

| Without being too forward, I've heard a lot of bad press about Freightliners right here on the forum. Other than design, if the loud cabin noise and the vibration is so below standard, why don't you look at other trucks such as Internationals which are priced right around the same range too? Just curious...I'm shopping too. |

The Classic is the only FL that I would even consider buying!

In my limited experience with the IH design is that they have A LOT of noise in the cab when driving.

| The Classic looks better....LOL! A lot! ![]() And just by "wheel base" the Classic should ride better. If you can find a "real" O/O spec Century/Classic it's not really a bad truck for the money, compared to W9's and 379's. The Century/Columbia is easier to maneuver because of the set back front axle.

| The reason why I ask is that my birth mother used to drive and she loved the FLD120ST and Classic models. If I can get a good local job after my community college, then yes I might just buy a day cab. Hunter
