Anyone ever drive any of these?

I was just surfing some pictures trying to visualize some of the trucks I've only seen the model numbers of on this forum. In my search I came across this Dodge COE. I never knew Dodge made a largecar.

Truck Neat Truck

I saw a rare chevrolet cabover driving the other way 2 sundays ago.It was similar to the GMC Astro but with a "Bowtie" emblem on the front above the grill.DD Power

The Dodge crackerbox was similar to my uncles Ford.Back in 1969.Cummins Power.

Another neat accessory with Dodge at this timeframe was the fenders (the white part with headlite assy),were hinged and would open twords the front,.Giving several access possibilties. And the rear head stuck out past the back of the bunk.

Minivan Dodge City

I washed car haulers in the 70's and this old timer with his unique Dodge opened up that crazy 3 way hood. Both fenders flung out twords the front and a lid on top.Made for a great "Parking Lot". I can see why he hung onto her for so long.

Dodge made the Big Horn from 73-74-75 with 261 being made. I love these. With their long and hoods and low roof line they look like they are doing 100 mph sitting. They are sought after by collectors and are really appreciating in cost. The Irving T/S outside of Halifax has a restored one in their shop, all red and chrome.

For some good old time truck photos go to Hanks Truck Pictures.

Looking at some ofthe old pictures makes me very thankfulfor two great inventions... air ride and solid wheels.... I hated buds and springs... makes my back ache and teeth hurt just thinking about them... when I was a kid my dad had an old dodge longhorn dump truck... that thing was a beast if I remember it had a 5 + 2 and we used it to haul rock and pull our backhoe...

Bell Got Dodge?

In 1952 my dad went to Detroit and bought a brand new dodge semi with a gas job and unless I have it mixed up, it had duel carburetors.

He had to pick it up himself from the factory due to the deivery drivers strike. He drove it back to central OH. and when my uncle got back from the Korean War the new Dodge was all his.

After it was retired it became my toy.

I remember it was up on blocks in the 60's and I would crawl all over and inside it.Grab the wheel and jump on the ripped-up seat sputtering and slobbering engine noises, while slamming the gears.
