| thrust bushings can someone tell me what causes thrust bushings to fail and what are the signs? thanks |

| Are you talking about the thrust bearings in the engine that keep the crankshaft centered? If so, I have been told by several people that the C-12 Cats are especially prone to premature wear of thrust bearings when the engine is coupled to a Meritor 12 spd automatic. The reason being is that the Meritor depresses the clutch every shift, putting stress on the thrust bearing, whereas the Eaton Fuller floats the gears after initial start off. |
