Kenworth air conditioner controls

Does anyone else have problems with these. The air and heater units are fine, but the controls are cheap junk that go wacky on me once a month. Was this a Chinese pilot program?

Yeah, there're cheap and must be handled gently and keep a spare around. I've looked for metal aftermarkets, so far no luck.

Havent had issues with mine, i do hate em though. If you pull out the whole HVAC controller with the 3 knobs on it, there is a metal line that goes to em, i spray it with WD-40 once in a while and they work great. If you dont they are tough as shiet to turn.

Here in the south, another problem is setting the ac at a comfortable level; if the heater valves are open, the ac won't cool enough when parked, and as soon as you close the valves, you need to defrost the w'shield. I also added an adjustable thermostat to help, wish I'd done that years ago!

Just got a new 660. The new controls are different and work fine.

Most of the trucks I've driven of different brands the heater valve shut offs aren't that great. You gotta shut the water off at the block in order to get cold AC.

I agree, and do this, but with our humidity, you also need a little heat to help "de-fog" the windshield. Just last week, I was driving on a curvy, narrow, two lane road, that follows one of our many bayous, where your glass seem to pickup moisture from the waterway, and constantly fog up. Heater valves being shut make for an "interesting" drive.
