Can you elaborate on what you mean by "extrude hone the injectors"? You say no turbo upgrades are required, but what about the manifold? Pittsburgh Power has a manifold that's ported and polished. Any experience with it? BTW - that video is COOL. Hope I see ya rollin' out that smoke soon! Maybe I'll be rollin' sum a my own...

Extrude honing means boring out the injector tip basically, to flow more fuel out of a stock set of injectors. There is no turbo upgrades for a ACERT, it doesent need one as it pushes A LOT of air as is. The problem there though is the exhaust housings on the turbos are very restrictive and it choking the engine. So you see by putting a manifold on it will help a little but it will still choke at the turbos. I would wait till the warranty runs out, get you a 3406B manifold and put a single turbo on it and dump the twins, then you will lose a lot of the back pressure, and gain power and millage. Google full-tilt performance, id post a link but dont wanna get in trouble, they have manifolds as well, they are $$$ though. Or you can buy my W9, im home sick for a Peterbilt again

| When I brought the turbo and injectors they sent 7 injectors (1 spare) they have taken the numbers off the spare injector so I would say all the numbers are missing off the 6 that are in the engine. If you cruising along in 16th about 1600rpm and stand on the throttle it will boost to 45psi with next to no lag whats so ever, jet black smoke will pour out like a solid tube for no more than 2 seconds then burn clean still boosting hard.Same deal BUT slowly push throttle boosting to 45psi over about 7-9 seconds then keep your foot right up it NO smoke at all. They obviously dont want us to know what they started with thats why they take the numbers off the new injectors. Its not a bad thing not letting people know there secerts is it???? |
