It is possible to remove the data on the code but if they have said their is no code they can not remove the history. Just check the serial numbers and ECM numbers.

Hearing all these horror stories about the DD15 make me glad I still have my DDEC-4 12.7L Non-EGR engine. Not the most powerful but regularly gets 7.5 to 8.0 mpg fuel mileage. While all these other engines are in shop, my old Detroit 12.7L is running down the road faithfully doing what it likes to do, haulin' ###. Every minute this engine is running I am monitoring all vitals and keeping regular checks of exhaust pipe tip looking for even the slightest sign of smoke. So far everything is good but this is only attributed to my pre-maintenance mindset "find and fix before fail". I pretty much know every sensor on my engine and know what each does and what to look for if they are starting to fail, this helps alot. I'll take my Series 60 12.7L any day over this new junk they now make.

So Diesel Spec north of the fence, does PDI mess with these at all on the south side?

i have an 09 cascadia dd15 setup.got a dash fault indicating #5 injector took a dump.however a week later with no revenue and 500 dollars in motel bills san antonio freightliner tells me Detroit engineers are now in charge of the process.Fix my truck and let me roll for heaven's sake.I'm not Daddy Warbucks here that can take that kinda hit.Whether the dash fault was accuratebor no,they don't say but on the way to the shop I couldn't get over 1300 rpm in 8th gear. This pulling an empty dry van over flat terrain. If you get injector problems with this engine looks like you're screwed.

Ditto. That is why I ordered my new 2013 Columbia with a factory rebuilt DDEC IV 12.7 pre-egr engine. I am not going to play with that emissions stuff any time soon and have to add urine to a tank and have my stacks become a corroded mess from being fried by a DPF.
