King I wouldn't know where to find such info. To the best of my knoweledge there isn't a Carfax for trucks.
Black book can give you a value estimate.
The Pete dealer can tell you what work they've done to this truck in their shops. Other wise I don't know where to find the info you want.Cybergal Thanks this. -
Well Brick, I need to know who owned this truck first; what type of stuff that was done to it. You think I should the local dealer or would get apprehensive about it?

Second is to go to the truck manufacturer to enquire about any recall work done.
Third, go to the engine manufacturer for similar information including history (i.e., making sure that's the engine the truck was originally equipped with, etc.).
For numbers two and three you will likely need a letter of release from the current owner.Cybergal and The Challenger Thank this. -
Thanks LostNfound. It showed up as a 99 Peterbilt Conventional 379 per car fax report.

LostnFound I didn't know that a truck would show up in Carfax. Thanks.
No letter of release needed for the truck and engine dealer to give info on what work was done. But I would be surprised if they tell you who the previous owners were.
This info ONLY shows what the Pete dealer did on this truck, or the engine dealers, nobody else.
Lets say its a Pete that was worked on at KW....... the Pete dealer will not have that info.
Lets say the engine is a Cummins but was worked on by a shop other than a Cummins shop......... the Cummins shop will not have that info. -
If it was used commercially, a maintenance record is required at the office for the company. It would be there for a leased truck as well. The owner of the truck probably has a copy of this in his files.
The Challenger Thanks this. -

Roadmedic, thanks as well. The truck i am referring to is the Pete 379 in my photos thats pink. Any more information is welcomed. Is Petetech still a member here?

You should be able to take the VIN number to a Pete dealer and have it ran there. I dont know how long thay keep data on trucks. I took the VIN to the truck I have to a Pete Dealer and traced it back to the dealer who sold it new and the person who spec it out and didnt pick it up.
You can take the motor number to a Cat shop and they can tell you anything that a Cat shop has done to it. If "Joe Blow" overhauled it Cat will not have that info.
Carfax dose work on Pete's as well but it wont tell you the info that I think your looking for.
